CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA and CSIQ forge partnership

Organiser of China’s leading national trade show for fresh fruit and vegetables signs MoU with the China Society of Inspection and Quarantine.

Berlin/Shanghai, 10 May 2018 – CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA organiser Global Produce Events (Shanghai) Co (GPE-SH) and the China Society of Inspection and Quarantine (CSIQ) have formed a strategic partnership to cooperate on upholding national food safety and quality standards, expanding China’s fresh produce trade, and establishing CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA as the leading national trade show for the fresh fruit and vegetable business.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in Beijing on Monday 7 May, CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA will extend the reach of CSIQ’s drive to safeguard national food safety and quality standards. It will also play a key role in promoting international fresh produce trade and developing and promoting high-quality agricultural brands in China for domestic supply and export.

CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA launches on 14-16 May as China’s leading national trade show for the fresh fruit and vegetables business. Taking place at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing, CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA is organised by GPE-SH, part of a larger commercial group which is the global market leader in fresh nproduce trade exhibitions. The group organises ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA, Asia’s premier continental trade show for fresh fruit and vegetable marketing, as well as FRUIT LOGISTICA, the world’s leading trade fair for the global fresh produce business.

About CSIQ:

CSIQ is approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and supported by China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

Based in Beijing, CSIQ is a national, non-profit, voluntary organisation that promotes academic communication and technical cooperation, advocates national high-tech inspection development and seeks to enhance the performance and level of inspection.

Under their MoU, the two parties will work together to develop CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA as China’s leading national fresh fruit and vegetable trade show in compliance with Chinese laws.

They will promote the development of inspection technology and inspection policy for quality fresh produce from Chinese and international producers in addition to promoting the international and intra-China fresh produce trade.

The parties will aim to facilitate the international trade of agricultural products, which includes servicing a wide range of imported fruits and supplying origins to China.

Implementing a national strategy to import high quality and safe fruits and to foster export of high-quality Chinese fruit is another priority for the two parties.

“FRUIT LOGISTICA has come to China for the first time, invigorating substantially the global trade in agricultural products and food,” said Xia Yang, secretary general of CSIQ. “Being the strategic partner of CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA, China Society of Inspection and Quarantine would like to work in concert with the participants from various countries, territories and international organisations to make CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA one of the top trade fairs globally.

“Hopefully, this [agreement] will open up new ventures in trade and cooperation in fruit and vegetables, with promising prospects shared by all participating countries and territories.”

Will Wollbold, general manager of GPE-SH, also hailed the landmark agreement with CSIQ. “We are delighted to enter into this strategic partnership with CSIQ and fully appreciate the professional guidance and resources available to CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA in the spheres of inspection and quality control,” said Will Wollbold, general manager of GPE-SH. “The China Society of Inspection and Quarantine is a clear partner of excellence to us.”
